Tax exemption in usa on holiday home?

Hi, im going to view a property i like the look of in new york state, if i buy the place i may have a couple of holidays there every year (no more than a couple of weeks for both)

will i still have to pay normal taxes on this property same as a us citizen? or am i exempt? I am a premananet resident in the uk

    You need to check with a real estate familiar with the state & local tax laws for the property in question, but there is little chance of being exempt from property taxes due to your nationality.

    Property taxes would be the same for you as they would if you were a US citizen.

    The name says it all: *Property* tax….not property _owner_ tax. And since the actual piece of property is in the USA, and in the state of New York, the actual piece of property is subject to the same taxes as the piece of property right next door. There are plenty of properties (homes, commercial buildings, empty lots etc.) that are owned by foreign nationals (non-USA citizens), many of whom never even visit this country. They still pay property taxes on the land they own.
