How much extra travel would it be to go around south america as a pose to travelling through the panama canal?

and what were the dangers of this route, crossing from the atlantic to the pacific?

sources please.
oh, and I’m talking miles, not time. since travel time is relative to the technology at the time.

How much money would you need to travel through Europe?

I have ALWAYS been interested in traveling to anywhere. I really wanna go to Europe, all of Europe but I don’t have enough money saved up because i just went to the Virgin Islands. From someone who has experience in doing so, about how much should i have saved up? If I stay in Hostels and all that fun stuff? Thanks!
I would like to go to Amsterdam, Spain, Germany, France and possibly London.
Also, I was thinking about 3 months at the very minimum. 6 months at the most.

Is it possible to travel through Central America into South America by land?

I’ve heard/read that most of Panama and Nicaragua are infested with guerrillas. I’m up for adventure (I want to circumnavigate most of South America) but I don’t want to die!! Can it be done safely? I’m looking for the cheapest way to South America…and flying ain’t cheap.

Best way to travel through Europe on a budget?

I want to go to the following places:
Prague
Vienna
Geneva
Paris
Amsterdam
Berlin

Probably in that order, that way I can go in a circle. What is the best way to travel? Eurorail?
I have stand-by tickets to-and-from the US and I plan to stay for at least a month.
I’ve never backpacked through Europe, but I’m experienced in the ways of the backpack.
How much should I plan to spend while I’m there, including inter-city and inter-country travel?
Tell me everything you think I should know to backpack through Europe including Hostel suggestions for the above mentioned cities. It would be of much help. Thanks!!

How safe is it to travel through Europe alone?

Ok, here’s the deal, I just graduated high school and my college plans are in the process of failing me. I want to work har, save up money and take a very LONG trip through Europe probably by myself (unless I can find a travel partner). Is there anyone who has done this and is willing to give advice. I really feel strongly about going. I went last summer with my mom, but I need to go again. Any friendly advice is appreciated. Thank you!!! Peace.

What is the most effective method of travel through Europe?

I am a 20-year-old male traveling by myself throughout Europe from Feb-Aug, and I’m wondering what the best method of travel is. I’m looking through Eurrail, planes, bikes, and buses, and what I have determined is that whatever is cheapest in that area is the best. I’m thinking of flying large distances, and renting a bike to travel around cities and smaller areas. Does anyone have any suggestions??
