What are race relations like for Blacks in South American countries? Is there an apparent dislike for Blacks? Should not native Blacks even venture to certain portions of South American such as Peru or Bolivia for the fear of their safety? Is traveling to Peru as a non-native Black like running to the slave ship as it is leaving Africa?

i’m going with a volunteer group, but the only issue is safety, i’ve heard mixed reviews about how safe it is there, and i just want a straight answer! Should i be worried? Or is it generally safe? i just need this cleared up!

Hi, I’m planning to travel to South Africa, with a friend, next year to visit one of my friends who lives there, but my parents are trying to get me to change my mind, because they think it’s unsafe. So, does anyone know of way to change their mind? Is it really as unsafe as people some people say? Please explain if you can.

I’m thinking about taking a vacation there. Is it safe for white Americans since there are so many whites there?

I realize Australia is in a state of emergency at the moment with all the flooding. I was planning on a backpacking trip there in May for a few months, and was wondering if it’s still a good idea even if I were to avoid Queensland.

I would like to rent small apartment that is close enough to public transportation and also safe AND not too expensive ($150-200/wk)

One of the guys I work with is being sent to South America (specifically Columbia) next month by our employer.
We’ve heard it’s a dangerous and unstable place to go, is that true?

I have wanted to travel there for some time but I keep hearing mixed stories, some people say its the best thing they have ever done and some say its so dangerous its not worth it.

I’m a 22 female and would either be going solo or with one friend. I have traveled solo once before. I also want to volunteer with the wildlife, like the live with the lions programs and such. I would also love to join a group for a week or so safari.
